Bible Study 2016-01-20
Tonight, we discussed Isaiah 62:1-5 and John 2:1-11, taken from the Lectionary for the Second Sunday in Ordinary Time (C) from last Sunday.
There are few references to Mary in Scriptures, and in the last Sunday reading we get a glimpse of the extraordinary role of Mary in the Story of Salvation.
Jesus and His Mother attend a wedding at Cana. Ever attentive to the needs of those around her, Mary was the first to realize that the wine ran short and told her Son: They have no wine (Jn 2:3). After his reply, Jesus complied with his Mother's request and performed a great miracle by converting water into wine.
As we read about Mary's role in Cana we also reflected on Mary’s intercession and advocacy in our own lives
Agenda for 2016-01-20
Supplement materials: The Creeds
